Power & Energy

The challenge

Power and energy facilities — combined heat and power plants, district heating stations, industrial boilers, and energy infrastructure — run on the longest asset lifecycles in industry. Plants built decades ago are modernised rather than replaced. New piping is added, existing piping is refurbished, and entire process islands are upgraded while the plant continues to operate around the work.

This means welding contractors in the power sector often deliver long-duration campaigns rather than short outage bursts. The work unfolds over months: new lines installed on existing pipe racks, section by section, each tested and handed over before the next begins. The discipline required is sustained — documentation consistency, welder rotation without quality drift, HSE performance over an extended deployment.

What we deliver

  • Pipeline installation on existing racks — new lines integrated into operating plant infrastructure
  • Plant modernisation and refurbishment — welding support for process upgrades
  • Steam, condensate, and feedwater line installation and repair
  • Power piping to ASME B31.1 where project code requires
  • Pipe prefabrication for power industry applications

Standards and codes

  • ISO 3834-2 — welding quality framework
  • EN 13480 — metallic industrial piping
  • ASME B31.1 — power piping (where applicable)
  • PED 2014/68/EU — pressure equipment
  • EN ISO 9606-1 — welder qualification
  • Plant-specific HSE codes and PTW procedures

Long campaign execution

Power and energy work is rarely a two-week outage. It’s typically a months-long campaign where the same crew returns week after week, each segment tested and handed over before moving to the next.

Our approach to long campaigns:

  • Welder rotation managed to avoid fatigue without losing scope familiarity
  • Documentation consistency maintained from week 1 through week 60
  • HSE performance sustained across the full duration
  • Coordination with main contractor on segment planning, tie-in timing, and pressure test execution
